Been doing at least one overnighter every week on the pit. Just come back from 24hrs on Sandhurst with only one fish out on the whole lake (not to me I might
add)...'ideal' conditions too lol! Just off now to take my nephew up the river for a few hours in the search of a grayling or two and maybe some small
brown trout. Just trying to remember what a fish looks like. I hope I can resist the temptation to snatch the rod from his hands if he gets a take

Just spoke to Jerry on the phone and he had a 29lb common out the syndi lake last night so I might get up there again before I have to start the back rehab
clinic next month, I think after that I wont get out again till the spring unless a miracle happens and it cures my bad back LOL Some chance

Hope you get better soon Sid Was it just me or was last weeks 'ideal conditons' a complete anti climax? All the lakes I know off fished really poor. I've noticed this few
times this year, ideal conditions are producing naff all

I can count the times ive been and the carp ive caught on one hand
The building industry (im a bricky) has gone titsup and i recon ive only worked about 20 weeks in total since last August and when i have had work the money earnt went elsewhere and not on fishing unfortunatly, the wife went bankcrupt to get out of the debt we were in,lucky we dont own our own house or we would of lost that for sure too I could fish the river syndy im paid up for but its not been in the right conditions all year and to be honest ive realy lost the desire to even go there and have been very close to selling up but i know i would definatly regret doing that and have to sit on my hands and wait till things get back on track and work improves,im dreading christmas and wish i could flash forward to the new year Im hopeing to fish my little syndy (puddle) this w/e as i have worked for the last 4 weeks re-pointing army buildings in warminster so may have a few extra £ to be able to afford to go there if i have the get up and go to go Which is prity much it for my carping this year |

I think its perfectly normal to lose the bug when other more important things are on your mind mate
Some people find being by the lake when they have problems is helpful, for me though I can't just sit there, I have to be doing something to keep my mind off it or doing something proactive to try and sort out what ever problems i've got going on Don't give up any tickets unless finances force you too |

I went out for a couple of hours to a small local pond and managed 4 out to about 6lb and really enjoyed myself, just lost the appetite to go regular so when I
do feel like it im gone to the garage packing my van.
I fancy dabbling in sea fishing so have just demo'd a boat and was blown away with it and the ease of fishing from it, ive never really enjoyed fishing from the beach etc as its hard work for not a lot from the catches ive had LOL. Not cheap but you only live once and got the green light from her indoors Here she is a Pirate 18 with basically a Honda Civic engine strapped to the back which takes it upto 40 mph! Just need to do a bank job to pay

meeting lots of old carp mates, no fish out to anyone while I was on the pond, had a small bream on the last morning on a choddy, will be back for more

I managed to get out last night on AP lake, had a small low double mirror (obviously a stockie, but great markings etc.) before I hit the sack......... most
probably bringing to an end my carp quest for this season and will now look to get out on the rivers if I can during winter for then other species.
Had a major landmark success this season thanks to a fish in Churn Pool being very understanding and very accommodating...... not that it matters as I'd have been almost as happy to blank that social session, but it will always be a great memory to have shared my first 30 amongst mates...... even if they did try to drown me with a bucket of lake water! LOL! www.chrismurray.podomatic.com |

Good post.. Been out twice this year.. Once a day on a pretty much unknown pit whilst testing out the early stages of the RLD and managed a 22lb common from
the edge, and another time i was dropping some bait to the lake for a guy and decided to have a quick dangle for the afternoon and wangled out a 24lber and a
upper double!! The rest of the years been work work a house move, more work and i've become a dad again,.. We had alittle boy named Ethan late September..
He's great.. And is taking up all my precious time,lol.. Ive dusted the rods off tho, and tied up a few rigs ready to start having ago on a local water for
some of its residents.
Theres a good head of fish which go to around 34lb which is ideal for short day sessions during these colder months... Although the lakes fishing hard at the moment, doing roughly two fish per week, im quite excited about starting on there.. I'll be lucky to manage 3days a month, but i shall be trying my best when i am there... |
